The Hunting Wives is pretty much guaranteed to get a second season after the massive success of its first one, but Netflix can’t simply green light the next installment.
The series wasn’t a Netflix original for season one as the show was originally made by Lionsgate Television as a series for Starz. Netflix ended up acquiring a one-year license to stream the first season and other entertainment companies picked up rights for international territories.
Deadline reveals that Netflix and Lionsgate TV are now working together to buy up the international rights so that the streamer can have global rights for future seasons.
The outlet also reports that “the cast has options for more seasons,” so you can expect many of the actors to return. Though we already know that some definitely won’t.
