Seven Lions, Andrew Bayer and Oaks have joined forces for ‘Hurricane,’ an anthemic new collaboration released today via the former’s Ophelia Records.
‘Hurricane’ arrives in the wake of the producer’s long-awaited sophomore album, Asleep In The Garden Of Infernal Stars, which dropped in December 2025. The soaring track functions as a bridge to an upcoming “companion EP,” serving as the first single from an “expanded chapter of the album’s story,” according to a press release.
The new single is as tempestuous in feeling as it is precise in craft, with each artist lending their own distinct magic to something that sounds bigger than the sum of its parts. It opens with a deceptive calm, piano keys tinkling like ice in a glass before the aching voice of Oaks arrives. Her lyrics explore the gravitational pull toward a person even when distance insists otherwise, carrying the weight of someone who has memorized every star visible from a tour bus window.
Then the storm arrives. The first drop unfurls into the progressive trance territory that Bayer has essentially made his personal Airbnb over the past decade, whirling with the same euphoric rush he’s been conjuring for over two decades. Seven Lions then steers the ship into melodic dubstep waters for the second drop sequence, where his vintage sound howls through the mix.
‘Hurricane’ reunites Seven Lions with Bayer after 2021’s ‘Returning to You’ and 2024’s ‘Places I Belong,’ and with Oaks following ‘Past You,’ which appeared on Asleep In The Garden Of Infernal Stars.
