Metro Boomin‘s new mixtape A Futuristic Summa is not expected to chart inside the top 20 of the Billboard 200.
Based on early tracking, the project is set to sell just 22,000 equivalent units in its first week, meaning it will not crack the top 20 and will easily be Metro’s worst debut on the Billboard charts.
It’s a big fall off from Metro’s last two collaborative projects – both with Future – which topped the charts last year.
His last solo project Heroes & Villains also went to the top of the charts in 2022.
The mixtape has not received positive reviews from fans with the producer later hitting back at the criticism.
Taking to X, Metro hit back at fans over their comments: “A lot of y’all get no bitches and it shows. This mixtape is not for you if you don’t: Like to twerk (or get twerked on), Want to dance, Want to have fun, Party like a rockstar, Surf & swag.”
Continuing his rant, Metro said: “If you never went out and competed with ya boys to see who could get the most numbers then you might wanna sit this one out.
“If yo homeboy never had to hold you up in the teen party while u was getting twerked on then you might wanna sit this one out.”
He continued to criticize his own fans by saying: “If you never intentionally wore your clothes with the tags still on then you might wanna sit this one out. If you started listening to rap music in 2017 then you might wanna sit this one out. If you never had to write a number down period then you might wanna sit this one out.”
The lengthy mixtape featured a large number of special guests including 2 Chainz, Future, Lil Baby and Quavo while the likes of T.I. and Wacka Flocka Flame also made appearances across the project.
Metro recently revealed that it was a lifelong dream of his to make entrance themes for WWE wrestlers after he was featured prominently during the company’s Bad Blood event last year.
On X, Metro wrote: “Would love to produce some WWE entrance themes. It’s a lifelong goal of mine.”
