Lola Young covers Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’ in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge

Ahead of the release of her new album, breakout star Lola Young has delivered a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance to remember.

Alongside single ‘Dealer’, the singer performed a rousing rendition of Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’, elevating the bop with her distinct vocals and sassy attitude.

Lola also performed an additional three tracks as part of Live Lounge Late which was broadcast during Radio 1’s New Music Show with Jack Saunders. These included ‘Spiders’, ‘Post Sex Clarity’, and her smash hit single ‘Messy’.

This Friday, Lola will be releasing her third studio album, titled I’m Only F**king Myself. According to early reviews, the album embodies raw honesty, intrusive thoughts, painful self-reflection and defiance. Lola herself describes the album as “my ode to self-sabotage, my chance to claw myself back from the edge of defeat,” which sets the stage for a truly candid snapshot of her life.

BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge month kicks off on Monday September 29, with 15 incredible artists set to perform including Louis TomlinsonDemi LovatoRobbie Williams, and Lewis Capaldi.
