The prolific actor has teamed up with right-wing influencer Ben Shapiro to break his movie hiatus more than two years after he was found guilty of assaulting his former girlfriend.
Jonathan Majors’ 2023 legal drama had a resounding effect on his career, costing him his prestigious spot in the Marvel line-up and a possible Oscar win, which he admitted may never happen.

Inside Jonathan Majors Upcoming Project

The actor has reportedly been spotted in South Carolina getting busy on the movie set alongside production companies, Daily Wire, and Bonfire Legend.
The project remains top secret with regard to any information about its title, plot, and cast members, although it is allegedly similar to the plot of the ’80s and ’90s films “Red Dawn” and “Toy Soldiers.”
Kyle Rankin is working as the director for the project, adding to the list of his successful collaborations with The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend. As for Shapiro, he would be producing the film for The Daily Wire, while Dallas Sonnier is handling production for Bonfire Legend.Â

The Production Companies Have Revived Several Cancelled Careers

The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend have gained fame as companies that often helped cancelled actors regain opportunities by giving comeback movie roles, as in the cases of Armie Hammer and Gina Carano after her exit from “The Mandalorian.”
Since his fall from grace after the domestic assault allegations, Majors has been finding his way back to the big screen with a recent gig in the supernatural revenge thriller “Merciless,” which was announced in 2024.
Aside from acting in the project, Majors will also be executive producing for Tall Street Production alongside Caleb Robinson and Mark Richards for The Daily Wire.
David Guglielmo will handle casting, while Vincent Reynaud of “Kandahar” will work as the production designer, joining Kristopher Kimlin of “Young Washington” as cinematographer.

Jonathan Majors Played Down His Chances Of An Oscar Win

Last year, The Blast noted that Majors earned significant accolades for his performance in “Magazine Dreams,” which hit the screen in March 2025. He later appeared in an interview where he was asked to detail his expectations from the highly acclaimed movie, to which he replied that he was not expecting much.
Majors also addressed the possibility of clinching an Oscar win from the project, getting candid about how the dream may never come to life due to his domestic violence case. In his words:
“The sh-t I went through, the way that I hit the press, the way I was dragged, the things I’ve had to deal with and heal from and all that, that’s completely, it’s a wrap.”

While he appreciates and recognizes the love, Majors emphasized that, since being a part of the Academy and knowing how things work, he is certain it will not happen.
The actor was on an upward trajectory in the industry and considered Hollywood’s next biggest star following his performances in “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” and “Lovecraft Country” and a possible feature in “Avengers.”
The 36-Year-Old’s Former Partner Dismissed Her Lawsuit Against Him In 2024

Majors’ ex, Grace Jabbari, took a crucial step nearly two years ago when she filed a defamation and assault lawsuit against him. In the legal documents obtained from the court, Jabbari voluntarily filed to dismiss her suit against the TV personality in November 2024 with prejudice.
As noted by The Blast, what this means is that even if Jabbari changes her mind in the future, she cannot refile the claims against Majors. However, it is unclear if Majors and his ex reached an out-of-court agreement.Â
Jabbari, in her dismissed lawsuit, claimed the actor subjected her to a series of domestic violence throughout their relationship between 2021 and 2023.

She recalled Majors physically assaulting her for inviting a friend to their home by strangling her neck, hitting her head against the marble floor multiple times, and threatening to kill her.
Jabbari noted that she refused to seek medical help after that episode because Majors had threatened to harm himself if she did so, and also expressed concerns about her report negatively affecting his career.
Jonathan Majors Was Disappointed About Marvel Series Replacement

The actor and his fans received shock when Marvel shared news that Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the franchise to star in Majors’ role as Doctor Doom. Downey Jr. was popular in the Marvel universe for playing the character “Iron Man” in the series.
Majors did not mince words in his reaction to the news as he admitted to being heartbroken about the situation, which also marked the end of his character Kang the Conqueror.Â
The actor’s character was billed to be the leading villain in the upcoming Marvel films, but Majors’ misdemeanor and harassment charges led to his being discharged from the role. Majors already made his mark with Marvel, having played roles in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “Loki.”
