EAST PALO ALTO, Calif. – Bay Area native J-GIV is making his voice heard across platforms through relatable lyrics, melodic production, and a message rooted in perseverance. Born and raised in East Palo Alto, California, J-GIV is a musician and beat maker who uses his music to tell stories of survival, personal growth, and staying true to one’s dreams—even against the odds.

Introduced to music at just 13 years old through the Boys & Girls Club’s recording studio, J-GIV’s early inspirations included Bow Wow and Ludacris. That youthful spark evolved into a lifelong passion, with music becoming both his outlet and mission.

“My story is humbling and very relatable,” he says. “It’s about not giving up—about pushing for your dreams, no matter how long it takes.”

J-GIV stands out not because of flashy trends or gimmicks, but because of his authenticity and joy in the creative process. “I have fun being me,” he says. “That’s the difference.” His catalog reflects that spirit, blending raw emotion with laid-back production and a storytelling voice shaped by life in East Palo Alto and throughout the Bay Area.

Streaming Success and Listener Impact

His most-streamed track to date, “Lust For Me”, has surpassed 17,000 listens on Spotify, followed by fan favorites “Can’t Quit” with over 11,000 streams, and the collaborative single “Lately”, currently at 8,000 streams and counting.

  • “Dreamin Everyday Pt. 2”

Both are now available on all platforms, and his next single, “High Rent”, is scheduled for release on August 15.

While he’s still building toward major collaborations, J-GIV’s latest feature is on the track “Drilla” by Playa Shotz, on the album “Trust The Process” He’s also working on upcoming songs with

Biv Da Great and O2 Good Guy Bad Guy, continuing his pattern of steady momentum and artistic growth.

Facing Challenges with Intention

Like many independent artists, J-GIV’s biggest obstacle has been self-promotion. “I tend to overthink things,” he admits. “But I’ve realized that sometimes you’ve got to do it wrong to do it better next time. Failure is part of growth.”

That mindset continues to guide his creative approach. He hopes to one day operate his own label, run a home studio, collaborate with major names, and bring his vision to even larger stages. “I want to earn awards and prove that dreams are possible—with hard work,” he says.

Long-Term Vision: Growth with Integrity

Looking ahead, J-GIV envisions a future of honest music, loyal fans, and spiritually grounded collaborations. He’s intentional about keeping his circle rooted in positivity, creativity, and good energy, while remaining open to those who genuinely want to see him succeed.

“I don’t have anything to hide. I’m me. God is good.”

As J-GIV’s catalog grows and his message spreads, his story serves as an example of resilience, artistic authenticity, and the power of staying true to yourself—one song at a time.
