The comedy series stars Rose Byrne as Sylvia and Seth Rogen as Will, two former best friends who reconnect in midlife after years apart. As their friendship reignites, their lives begin to destabilise.

The first season debuted in May 2023 and now it is back, with the first two episodes of season two landing on Apple TV+ on Wednesday (August 6). The remaining eight episodes will arrive on a weekly basis until the season finale on October 1.

Platonic was created by the husband-and-wife team of Francesca Delbanco and Nicholas Stoller, who previously collaborated on Friends From College. Stoller has also directed Neighbors and Forgetting Sarah Marshall and was a writer on The Muppets, Yes Man and Zoolander 2.

Luke Macfarlane (Bros) co-stars as Sylvia’s husband, with Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Back Bennett all making recurring appearances in the second season.

Season two has been well received, currently sitting on a perfect 100 per cent critics score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
