Arrows In Action Release Cover Of Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Ride’

Arrows In Action have released their cover of Twenty One Pilots‘ ‘Ride’ on to streaming services.

The track was originally recorded for Rock Sound’s ‘Blurryface Reborn’ tribute album which was released earlier this year in honour of the LP’s tenth anniversary.

Speaking to the magazine, the band said “We knew already that Victor’s unique vocal style would take the song in a new direction, so as we changed elements to add our collective fingerprint to one of our favorite songs by one of our favorite bands, we were careful to keep the DNA of the original intact. We found a lot of inspiration instrumentally from the extended-band live performances of their ‘Scaled And Icy’ tour; in many places, synths are swapped for guitars, and often keys have been swapped for a synthetic orchestral stack. In doing this, we inherently wrote new parts that play off of and support the existing vocal melodies. As super fans of Twenty One Pilots ourselves, we wanted to use this opportunity to create an homage to their work and what it’s meant for us, not just record the song. This is why we’ve loaded it with easter eggs; Skylar Accord, who performed with the band on their 2023 World Tour plays bass on our version of the song, AND we have recreated a signature moment from ‘Heathens’ within our cover of ‘Ride!’.”
