‘RHOP’ Star Wendy Osefo Insists She Did Lie About Her Break-In

For context, the Osefos reported a home break-in in April 2024, stating that their family was on vacation and returned to find several luxury items missing and various signs of an intrusion. Fast-forward to October 2025, and the couple was arrested on several counts of alleged insurance fraud.
Regarding the “Real Housewives of Potomac” reunion, Osefo spoke openly about the situation. She said in the clip, “My home was broken into in 2024. It was right before we started filming season 9. You know, we came back from our family vacation, my kids go upstairs, and my daughter says, ‘Zoe[their dog] made a mess.'”
Osefo then noted that this was odd, as they had taken their dog to “the doggy hotel,” so her husband went to check. Upon doing so, they called the police to report the burglary.

I’m sleeping, Eddie wakes me up and says, ‘baby, the police are down here.'” From there, she shared that she wondered if her kids were okay. She then learned that their arresting officer was the same one who took their break-in report, leading her to believe they found the intruders. She stated that he responded, “There was no bulgery.”

Karen Huger Gave Her Advice

After Osefo’s comments, reunion host Andy Cohen asked Karen Huger if she had been in touch with Osefo through her legal ordeal. Huger said, “First of all, I wish your children the absolute best. My heart goes out to them. Your first hearing, I would pray that whatever you’re going through would be dismissed because I need you two to go home to your children.”
She continued, saying, “I just told you to shut the f-ck up because I didn’t want you to do what you just did. I wouldn’t have answered anything on this stage tonight. You’re talking too much, Wendy. I’m begging you to stop talking. I do not want you to go to jail.”

Fans Are Reacting

After the “Real Housewives of Potomac” reunion aired, many fans of the show weighed in on what Osefo said about her break-in and what Huger had to say. One fan wrote on X, “Karen is correct. They will twist your words, etc., etc. She shouldn’t have answered even that.” Someone else said, “Wendy, girl, why are you talking about this?!?! She needed to stfu smh.”
However, a different X user said, “Karen just wanted a gotcha moment so bad, there was no talking too much in what Wendy said.” Someone else replied, writing, “There was. The robbery she’s talking about was the one she claimed items for, and what’s alleged in the suit. One of her charges is related to their thinking that she lied about the robbery. She shouldn’t have answered that tbh.”
Finally, a different social media user said, “Karen talking about she wouldn’t have come as if her not coming last year kept her out of prison.”

What The ‘Housewives’ Star Previously Said About Her Arrest
Wendy Osefo interviewed on Gibson John’s podcast, “Gabbing With Gib,” in September 2024, several months after she reported the break-in. Per Page Six, when asked about it, she told the host, “I think a few of my first initial scenes, I’m just a little bit uneasy because we had just been violated, so to speak.”
Osefo continued, “It was the worst thing. It was so unexpected, especially since — from my vantage point and from the investigators’ vantage point — it was targeted. My first thought was my kids. Part of the reason why I live where I live is for their safety, for them to have ample acres, you know, to be able to run, play, enjoy, free of anything.”
She then said, “I’m just glad that we are OK. We’re safe, and we are able to move forward from that as a family, but man, that was definitely gut-wrenching.”
