The Menzingers Share Hearty New Track ‘Nobodt’s Heroes’

The Menzingers have made their return with their first new music in three years, and it’s a track that is even more self-referential than ever before.

The Menzingers Share Hearty New Track ‘Nobodt’s Heroes’

Titled ‘Nobody’s Heroes’, musically, it is as heartland as it gets. Shimmering organs, sunset-soaked guitars and the sort of melodies that cling to your soul like tar, it’s every sort of sound that has carried the band over the years. But dig deeper, and it plays out as a song firmly about the band and their legacy. The idea that they cannot be someone you look up to because they are going through the same things as those who listen to them.

It’s a reminder that those who write your favourite songs breath the same air as you do. That’s why they are so relatable.

Vocalist/guitarist Greg Barnett had this to say about the track, stating, “We started writing Nobody’s Heroes for Tom [May], who was going through a divorce at the time. As the song developed it became something even bigger. ‘Nobody’s Heroes’ is the story of The Menzingers. How we’re at our best when we’re ourselves.”

The band are scheduled to be in Europe over the Summer for a series of festival appearances. Here’s where you can catch them.
