Couple creeped out by gas station with lights off and dusty abandoned cars out front – We Got This Covered

Sometimes we just get a feeling that something isn’t quite right. It can be hard to put your finger on exactly what it is, but every now and then, that feeling is simply too strong to ignore. For a couple on TikTok their gut was telling them to get away from one particularly creepy gas station.

The video, posted by “babyykayy444” features her and her partner discovering something somewhat disturbing. Arriving to a 24 hour gas station, they immediately noticed something was wrong, they pointed out the other cars pulled up at the pumps which were all seemingly empty. What’s even weirder is the fact that in their video, you can clearly see the cars are covered in dust, suggesting that they have been parked in those spots for a very long time.

What’s even stranger was the fact that the lights appeared to be off in the gas station, despite the signs at the pumps instructing customers to pay inside. Naturally, the couple opted not to go inside the creepy gas station for fear that there was something nefarious going on.

Like something straight out of a horror movie

The whole situation felt like something you’d see in a movie. It’s uncanny, while it may appear normal at a passing glance, the closer you look, the more things feel like they’re off. Viewers compared it to the infamous mid-2000’s House of Wax which features a ghost town inhabited by a disturbed serial killer. “Girl that’s the House of Wax town RUNNNNNN,” wrote one person, “didn’t the house of wax start like this[?]” asked another.

Whatever the case, the couple decided to make the wise decision to leave post-haste and check it out during the day time when things would probably be a whole lot safer. Maybe they could even get to the bottom of the mystery if they could visit the gas station when it was open.

So what were the dusty cars about?

In a second video, the pair actually did return the next day to find the situation looking a whole lot less creepy. While the dusty cars were still there, they could actually see that the gas station was open for business and there were real, living humans moving about, (or at least they seemed to be).

When they asked a worker in the station what was going on with the cars they explained that the owner had parked their vehicles in front of the pumps that weren’t working to prevent people from using them. The owner seems to have a lot of cars as I count at least three just gathering dust. You’d think they’d want to get those pumps fixed and those cars out of there ASAP.

As for why the lights were off, the worker explained that they had been a 24 hour gas station but had just recently changed meaning the couple likely came when it was closed. While the explanations all make sense, part of me is still suspicious that this could be a House of Wax situation.
