Swiss-born singer-songwriter, philanthropist, and all-round creative force Miel de Botton has just unwrapped ‘Loved Ones: Volume 1’, the first chapter of an ambitious three-part musical project that’s as personal as it is eclectic.
The concept? A heartfelt salute to the people who’ve shaped her life — from family and lifelong friends, to fans and followers — the album isn’t just a playlist; it’s a sonic scrapbook of relationships, memories, and moments that matter.

Unapologetically diverse in sound and style, listeners can expect to be taken on a wild genre ride as the ‘Is It Enough?’ singer reflects upon her history and heritage: we’re talking French chanson, Europop sparkle, soaring choral moments, Ibiza-ready dance tracks, spoken-word in German, and even a lovestruck piano waltz.
At the helm once again is Miel’s longtime collaborator, producer Andy Wright (Simply Red, Eurythmics), keeping the emotional core intact while letting each track flex its own personality.
Leading the charge is ‘Hit Song’, a disco-infused earworm that Miel admits she almost didn’t include — until its playful, infectious vibe made it impossible to ignore. The music video doubles as a roll call of the “loved ones” who inspired the project, adding a warm, home-video intimacy to the glittery groove.
Commenting on the project, Botton says: “From all different areas and aspects of my life, I’m blessed to have a lot of loved ones, of course including my precious family. I wanted to honour them. But also, when I would tell my stories about the music business, recording, performing, being on stage, I could feel their interest – and sense that they wanted to join in. And I thought, wouldn’t it be amazing to create a collection of songs where they could do that?”
